Opinion: OPEC was right on oil speculation

The Clarion-Ledger of Jackson, Miss., says the recent drop in oil prices vindicates OPEC President Chakib Khelil, who said in July that market fundamentals alone justified a price of only $70 a barrel -- roughly half the going rate at the time. "The producers of oil weren't to blame for the high prices," the paper says. "Instead, it was Wall Street speculators -- the same crew that Uncle Sam and the taxpayers just bailed out!"
