Trippler: Consumers would pay for re-regulation

Airline guru Terry Trippler says talk of re-regulating the airline industry would only hurt the very fliers it is intended to help. Giving a few examples of how widely airfares can vary between city pairs, Trippler wonders where the government would set its arbitrary fare if the industry were to be re-regulated -- and how many travelers might end up paying more as a result. "Air travelers, you benefit when the free marketplace determines airline pricing, routes and service," Trippler says.
