Tarmac plant saves big bucks with custom drive assembly

Worn machinery almost brought Europe's largest marine-sand processing plant to a standstill -- but the London facility, operated by Tarmac Quarrying Materials, stayed online thanks to a custom drive assembly produced by Brammer's repair and maintenance specialists. The system was specially designed to be commissioned with minimal downtime, and the new machinery's increased reliability is expected to save Tarmac nearly $16,000 a year. "Brammer was able to deliver a solution which not only minimized downtime during installation but has reduced that risk in the long term," said Tarmac manager Steve Wallis.
