GAO identifies 4 "safety-related concerns" on repairs to Dreamliner

The new Boeing 787 Dreamliner, the "first airliner built with carbon-fiber reinforced composite plastics," has four potential safety weakness, according to a report from the Government Accountability Office. The unique properties of carbon fiber and insufficient standards for repair were two of the safety concerns lists. None of the risks are "insurmountable," the report noted.
