Hospital group, attorney general want more SANE nurses in Ill.

Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan and the Illinois Hospital Association want to double to 150 the number of hospital-based sexual assault nurse examiners who can conduct forensic exams and testify in court. The goal is to have a SANE program in place in each state trauma region and to reduce the number of assaults that are not reported.
