Vegetarian diet can be healthy for children, experts say

Some parents worry that children won't get enough protein on a vegetarian or vegan diet, but the American Dietetic Association says it can work as long as it is well-planned to provide adequate nutrition. Registered dietitian Roberta Anding of Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children's Hospital says there are online resources for parents, but she cautions against the diet for children who are not willing to explore new foods or like just a handful of foods.
