A4A: U.S. hopes EU will reconsider emissions scheme

India is against a European Union plan to institute its emissions-trading scheme for foreign airlines flying in EU airspace. Officials from India said the EU move is in opposition to the global emissions agreement hammered out at a recent International Civil Aviation Organization meeting. Vaughn Jennings, spokesman for Airlines for America, said the U.S. airline industry hopes that Europe will revise the draft plan to agree with ICAO policy.
