Congress is urged to revoke EPA's renewable fuel mandate

Congress should repeal the Renewable Fuel Standard, even though a draft proposal for 2014 blending requirements by the Environmental Protection Agency favors the oil and natural gas industry, the American Petroleum Institute said. Under the draft, the EPA would reduce the amount of ethanol to be blended into gasoline by about 3 billion gallons. Consumers, however, should still be allowed to pick gasoline without ethanol, said Bob Greco, API's downstream director.
