The former Hamm's Brewery complex in St. Paul, Minn., will soon be home to a new distillery, 11 Wells. It's named for the 11 wells that tapped into the fresh water below the brewery complex, this article says. Owners Bob McManus and Lee Egbert plan to begin distilling operations in January and will produce "small batches of specialty gin, bourbon whiskey, rye whiskey, malt whiskey and rum," as well as an aged, twice-distilled corn-based product called Minnesota 13, this article says. The distillery will be the Twin Cities' first since Prohibition.
