EPA: Conversion to natural gas feedstock pushes power-plant emissions lower

The conversion of power plants from coal to shale natural gas feedstock has led to lower greenhouse gas emissions in the past three years, according to an Environmental Protection Agency report. The report is part of an Obama administration initiative to increase the availability of climate data. "Putting this data in the hands of the public increases transparency, supports accountability, and unlocks innovation," said EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy.
