Japan's economic zones won't have labor-market flexibility

Businesses operating in Japan's proposed economic zones won't be allowed to experiment with relaxed employment and labor regulation, amid opposition from Tamura Norihisa, minister of health, labor and welfare. Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, in proposing the zones, initially wanted to give international companies flexibility to depart from Japanese labor law.
