Report: Wine supply may not meet growing Chinese demand

China is forecast to become the largest global wine consumer by 2016, as its rate of consumption has doubled twice in the past five years and domestic production has quadrupled in the past decade, according to a new Morgan Stanley report. Chinese wine consumption is increasing at a time when global production is at a 40-year low. The report found that "there may be insufficient supply to meet demand in coming years, as current vintages are released."
