Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund on Tuesday issued its annual "Races to Watch" list, highlighting 10 openly LGBT candidates from among its 85 endorsed candidates, a record for an odd-numbered year. "2013 isn't an off year. It's definitely on at the Victory Fund," Lucinda Guinn, the group's political director, said. "We're working hard this year to help build up local heroes in places where equality is late in arriving." Candidates on the list include Houston Mayor Annise Parker, who is running for a third and final term, and Washington state Sen. Ed Murray, who could be Seattle's first openly gay mayor.
