FDA wants to track all medical devices

The FDA wants to track all medical devices through an electronic database to make any necessary safety recalls easier. AdvaMed says a tracking system should be optional for medical device makers and notes many companies already voluntarily track their own devices. The FDA today is expected to meet with device makers and health care administrators to discuss a tracking system.
