Robotic "microhand" could aid in microsurgery

A microscopic robot hand about 1 millimeter across could aid in microsurgery, perhaps at the end of a catheter, according to researchers who have built a prototype. Silicon is used to create finger bones and tiny balloons inflate and deflate, acting as joints to flex the fingers.
