BIM gives planners virtual tour of unfinished projects

Planners of a $1 billion build-out of the San Diego International Airport have already toured the unfinished project. How? Building information modeling technology lets planners experience a project virtually, as design takes shape. BIM lets contractors "show your client exactly what everything is going to look like as of now, or how it's going to look if he asks for changes right now," said Dan McGuckin with Turner Construction, which is leading the expansion.
