EU gives up IMF seats to strengthen emerging economies' voice

The EU has agreed to give up some seats on the governing board of the International Monetary Fund to give emerging economies a stronger role. If the restructuring is approved at the next Group of 20 meeting, Brazil, Russia, India and China are expected to be ranked among the IMF's 10 biggest shareholders, with increased voting power.
