Study: Statewide autism rate may be stabilizing in Wisconsin

A study in Pediatrics found that the statewide rate of Wisconsin children receiving special education for autism per 1,000 children increased from five to nine over seven years, but the increase wasn't the same in all schools. The researchers found schools varied widely in how many children with autism they had, but the gap eventually narrowed, with increases seen only in schools that started out with few students who had the disorder.
