Survey: U.S. firms to increase capital spending over the next 12 months

U.S. companies that plan to increase capital expenditures during the next year outnumber the companies that foresee cuts in spending, according to a survey by the National Association for Business Economics. The study also found that while some businesses may not increase their workforce, fewer firms are expected to lay off employees in the next six months.
