Australian students are showing more interest in humanities

In New South Wales, Australia, officials report a trend of female students studying the humanities, rather than maths. Educators at an all-girls school in Sydney say students increasingly are viewing the humanities as subjects that are as prestigious as maths and science. "That hierarchy of subject choice is diminishing," said principal Andrea Connell. "People are starting to realise these subjects have an academic rigour and a whole body of knowledge around them."
