Basel Committee eases bank-capital rules to help trade finance

The Basel Committee on Banking Supervision has eased parts of its capital rules for banks in response to lenders' concerns that the provisions might hurt international trade. "The agreed changes will improve the access to and lower the cost of trade finance instruments for low income countries," the committee says.
