House approves legislation to exclude U.S. from EU trading scheme

The House of Representatives has voted to exclude U.S. airlines from the European Union's emissions trading scheme. "It's a tax grab by the European Union," said Rep. John Mica, R-Fla. "The meter starts running the minute the plane departs from any point in the U.S. until it reaches Europe."
