Medtronic, security experts investigate insulin pump safety

Following a claim that insulin pumps can be hacked, Medtronic has asked software security experts to investigate the safety of its pumps. Researchers at security software maker McAfee said they have developed a code that allows full function control of one Medtronic insulin pump model from as far away as 300 feet.
