NYC to launch campaign against sugary drinks

The New York City Health Department is set to launch a 30-second TV spot to educate viewers about health issues linked to sugary drinks and to offer healthy alternatives. According to the agency, drinking one can of soda a day for a year is equivalent to consuming 50 pounds of sugar, which can contribute to health problems such as obesity and diabetes.
