Combining CSR and financial reporting would provide investors with a more realistic snapshot of companies' health and prospects for the future, according to a document from the International Integrated Reporting Committee. That could have sweeping consequences, note Bill Baue and Marcy Murninghan. "By forging a global consensus on the direction reporting needs to head, the IIRC sets the stage for a paradigm shift in the meaning, purpose, and conduct of capitalism," they write.
