Will CityCenter create a more "livable downtown" in Washington, D.C.?

CityCenter is a $900 million mixed-use project under construction in Washington, D.C., and it could be just the piece needed to make D.C.'s downtown more livable. The project, helped by $622 million in funding from the government of Qatar, will include two office buildings, almost 700 residences, a hotel and "space for the kind of upscale downtown retailing that city planners have talked about for years but never really materialized."
