Design of $181M building showcases precast façade

Zaha Hadid's architectural design for a $181.4 million building in France included the use of 1,000 sections of precast concrete for its façade. The precast "façades are almost seamlessly smooth, giving the architecture an almost overwhelming hi-def graphic quality," writes Jay Merrick. Hadid describes her Pierresvives building "as a horizontal tree trunk, and as two crevices in a landscape."
