Conn Creek Winery uses high-tech machines to boost harvest

Conn Creek Winery in Napa Valley, Calif., is celebrating its 40th harvest this year and is using a high-tech optical sorter, centrifuge and state-of-the-art destemmer to boost the quality of its luxury-tier wines. The sorter has a 10-million-pixel camera that scans the fruit to eliminate subpar grapes at a speed of one meter per second, increasing efficiency and reducing man-hours.
