Pet illnesses raise questions about safety of food from China

Despite extensive testing and investigations of Chinese processing plants, the FDA hasn't been able to pinpoint the link between chicken jerky treats made in China and pet illnesses and deaths in the U.S. The issue and a history of problems raise broader concerns about the security of pet- and human-grade food produced and shipped from China, where the reach of U.S. regulators is limited.
