Tour operators report strong business in Cuban travel

Interest in Cuban tours is picking up as more travelers are taken in by the allure of a once-forbidden destination, some tour operators say. Tom Popper, president of nonprofit Insight Cuba, said he saw business to Cuba increase 15% from 2011 to 2012. International Expeditions' executive director Steve Cox said expectations have been exceeded for travel in 2013, and in 2014 it plans to launch a short program geared toward travelers interested in Cuba's art and culture.
