Intel, McCaw to create WiMax network

Intel, the world's largest maker of computer chips, will team with cell-phone pioneer Craig McCaw to create a global WiMax Internet access system -- a long-range wireless alternative to phone, cable and Wi-Fi. The chipmaker will invest an undisclosed amount in Clearwire, a wireless broadband company founded by McCaw.
