Report: Problems likely unless power industry hits long-term switch

A 10-year forecast of the power industry predicts substantial reliability problems unless the power industry adds resources and takes a better, long-term approach to demand. The forecast, from the North American Electric Reliability Council, indicates that capacity margins could fall below minimum targets within the next three years unless generation, transmission and demand-response resources are added.
