Stanford to start work on $200M research facility

Construction for the Lorry I. Lokey Stem Cell Research Building will start today with a groundbreaking ceremony at Stanford University. The facility, which will cost $200 million to build, will encompass 200,000 square feet and offer 60 "hotel" research areas for visiting scientists. The building is expected to be finished by summer 2010 and will have room for about 600 scientists.
