Lisa Rapavi, a home-based corporate travel agent for The Leaders Group, writes that this past year has been a tough one for many agents. First, the economic downturn swept away much of the demand that kept agencies busy and profitable. The decrease in business led to cuts, layoffs, mergers and closed agencies. For those who managed to survive the downturn, life has gotten better as travel demand has started to pick up. However, many are doing more with less, making even the increase in demand a challenge.
