Future of space exploration shouldn't be Earth's moon, panel argues

An independent panel is trying persuade the White House to skip manned moon missions in favor of visiting an asteroid or even one of the moons of Mars. The panel argues that visiting locations such as asteroids would be cheaper and easier, since it would require less fuel to escape their orbit.
