Social-networking technology can help with foreign-language learning

Social-networking technology is helping some users improve their foreign-language skills from just about anywhere. Livemocha provides lessons and requires students to record audio that native speakers then rate and evaluate. Lang-8 is a similar service for written practice, allowing native speakers to read your online journals and correct mistakes. Other new technologies, such as iPhone applications, can also help users improve foreign-language skills.
