Optimism increases for small-business owners in October

Small-business economic confidence rose to a score of 84.2 in October, a 10.4 point gain that marked the highest increase since April, a Discover Financial Services survey showed. The percentage of small-business owners who expect economic conditions for their businesses to get better in the next six months improved from 20% in September to 28% this month, according to the report.
