Why joyful employees are better than efficient workers

Companies that are organized around stopwatches and employee manuals may be highly efficient, but they are rarely going to surprise and delight their customers, Seth Godin writes. The alternative, he believes, is to "organize for joy," creating an environment where employees have "the freedom (and yes, the expectation) that they will create, connect and surprise."
