U.S. metro-home price index rose 0.2% in August

The S&P/Case Shiller composite index, which covers 20 metropolitan areas, reported seasonally unadjusted home prices climbed 0.2% from July to August. "We will probably see a re-emergence of the seasonal dip in most markets, quite frankly, including California," said Thomas Lawler, who founded research firm Lawler Economic & Housing Consulting.
