Annual game draws calls for LGBT equality in Jacksonville

Graduates of the University of Florida and the University of Georgia are asking the schools' presidents to pressure Jacksonville, Fla., to pass a nondiscrimination ordinance protecting LGBT citizens. The rival schools' football teams meet this weekend in the north Florida city for an annual game, and alumni hope to use the economic impact of the game as leverage. "There are many competing cities that covet its economic impact and all of them -- unlike Jacksonville -- already have some measure of civil rights protections that are more in line with the two universities," reads a letter to the university presidents.
