Consumer confidence continues to fall

The Conference Board reported the October consumer confidence index came in at 92.8, down from last month's 96.7 and below the expected 94. "While consumers' assessment of the labor market this month showed a moderate improvement, the gain was not sufficient to ease concerns about job growth in the months ahead," a Conference Board report said.
