Study: Many Americans continue to smoke through illness

Many Americans continue to smoke even while facing severe smoking-related diseases, according to a new study. Researchers found 43% of Americans with emphysema in 2003 did not give up cigarettes, 22% of people with asthma continued to smoke, and 21% of stroke victims and 20% of people with cardiovascular problems smoked through their illnesses.
