China's economy healthy, but it is no time to get complacent

The governor of China's central bank said the nation's economy is healthy but that officials must be ready to quickly cope with "the many destabilizing and uncertain factors" growing out of the financial crisis. Reporting to the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, Zhou Xiaochuan struck a balance between confidence and caution. Looking ahead, he said the central bank will devise a plan on how to provide emergency help to banks, if that becomes necessary.
