English teacher Deanne Moore's use of world literature to expose her students to different cultural viewpoints was netted her a $1,000 teaching award for excellence in international education. "In an English classroom, students can use literature and film as a means of penetrating international boundaries, challenging their own beliefs, complicating their thinking, and reaching a richer understanding of the world that they live in," she said.
