National Park Service restoring Northern California wetlands

The National Park Service is reclaiming wetlands in Northern California through a $10 million project. Marin County's Giacomini Wetlands were turned into pasture land for dairy cows more than 60 years ago, but the Park Service is removing a levee and restoring most of the 560 acres to its former habitat. The new estuary will filter pollutants for a 200-square-mile watershed in Point Reyes.
