Americans unlikely to exceed safe folic acid limits, study says

Though Americans get folic acid from a number of sources, fewer than 5% exceed safe limits, a new study found. Folic acid deficiencies during pregnancy are linked to increased risk of neural tube defects in infants, but some studies suggest a link between folic acid fortification and increased risk of colorectal cancer.
