ExxonMobil seeks dismissal of Maryland gas station sell-off lawsuit

ExxonMobil asked a federal court Monday to dismiss a lawsuit brought by Maryland gas station operators over the sell-off of stations the company owns and leases to small-business franchisers. ExxonMobil wants to get out of the retail gasoline market, but the franchise owners maintain that the Petroleum Marketing Practices Act entitles them to the first chance to buy the stations.
