Maryland homeowners take a shine to sun-reflecting shingles

Maryland homeowners Ed and Marilyn Cramer decided to renovate their roof with sun-reflecting shingles, which can reduce the roof's temperature by 20% in the summer. The Cramers selected Landmark Solaris shingles by CertainTeed and will receive a tax credit for the energy-efficiency upgrade to their home. The Cramers also plan to install several solar tubes, which are similar to skylights but resemble traditional light fixtures.
