Schoolchildren are missing after Malaysian bridge collapses

A 2-week-old suspension bridge collapsed under the weight of a group of Malaysian schoolchildren, killing at least one child and leaving up to 21 missing. Officials said the 164-foot bridge failed after a metal pillar and concrete block foundation were ripped out of the ground. One witness suggested that the group of between 30 and 50 children had been jumping up and down when the bridge collapsed.
