SEC may have to try Galleon civil ahead of criminal case

The Securities and Exchange Commission needs to be ready to open its civil insider trading case against the Galleon Group within five months, according to U.S. District Judge Jed S. Rakoff. The ruling is unusual and may mean the SEC will have to tip its hand ahead of a criminal case against Galleon founder Raj Rajaratnam and others.
